Work in the Shop and the Year Ahead

Hello friends.
I hope you’re finding comfort in the small, steady things that help life feel right. Yesterday it was in the 40s, so my daughter and I went on a little hike, and it was exactly what I needed. I never get tired of hearing her gasp when she notices something new, or the way she declares her love for Mother Earth with complete sincerity. Even when the leaves have fallen and there are no flowers blooming or birds singing, there is still so much to take in.
This year is bringing a shift in pace for me. I’m still creating pottery, but I’m working in smaller batches and allowing more space for homeschooling, growing food, and caring for my health. Slowing down has helped me reconnect with why I make what I make, and I’m excited about where that’s leading.
Recently, I had work available at a couple of local art events, with pieces shown at the Stifel Center and the Schrader Center here in Wheeling, WV. Some of that work didn’t find homes, and rather than letting it sit on my shelves, I decided to photograph those pieces and add them to my online shop. There are a few Ohio mugs featuring an Ohio River scene that are beautiful but haven’t been strong sellers, and I’d really love to see them find their people, so I’ve discounted those along with a few other pieces.
Going forward, I’ll be sharing my work through seasonal updates rather than frequent drops and in-person events. I’ll be focusing on collections for spring, summer, fall and winter. My next shop update on my website will be in late March or early April. I hope you’ll follow along as I share what I’m making.
The newly added pieces are available in my online shop now, including the discounted Ohio mugs and other work I’d love to see settled into new homes. Thank you, as always, for supporting my work!
Carrie
